Bishop Johnson Gakumba ordained 5 deacons, 5 priests and 1 Canon in a ceremony held at St.Philips Cathedral on Sunday 26th September 2021. Those ordained Deacons included:  Aber Caroline, Akello Joan Cissy, Florence Otim, Okello Martin Janan and Oyet Peter. While the following were ordaind priests. Ocen Walter Onen, Okwerojok Charles, Olango Sunday, Okwerojok Charles, Onen Charles and Opio John Alfred. Rev. Eunice Opok was installed as the 1st Female Canon in the Diocese of Northern Uganda. Canon Eunice is currently the Vicar of St. Michael Obiya.

The Bishop Elct Rev. Godfrey Loum was the preacher, while delivering his sermon he asked the newly ordained to be men and women who have no case against them and willing to serve the lord at all times. 

The Gulu City Women Member of Parliament Hon Betty Aol Ocan said the filed is ready but the labourers are few and so appealed for more peopel to be recruited in the ordaind ministry.
