Janani Luwum reopened.

Ministry in Northern Uganda has changed due to the war said Bishop Johnson Gakumba while speaking to the Lay Readers who had come for the beginning of a one year course at the Archbishop Janani Luwum Theological College in Gulu recently. The Bishop said Catechists are the foundation of the church and that when they know their roles they can support the priests better. The Bishop said because of the war, many people including church leaders just sit and wait to be told what to do and expect to be given things by the Church instead of giving to the Church.  The lay readers training will equip them to be more effective in their work said the bishop.  The lay readers on their part said they came so that they get more knowledge, certificate, know their responsibilities and to minister effectively.

The New Principal of the College Ms Sandra Earixson who graduated with a Master Degree from Uganda Christian University Mukono is very optimistic that the college will develop into a University offering other disciplines in addition to Theology. We wish her all the very best. Sandra took over the leadership of the College from Rev. Wilson Atine who is currently the Dean Faculty of Theology at All Saints University Lira and part time lecturer at Gulu University.
In a related development, a fundraising dinner was organized for the College and about 5 million was realized in cash and pledges this is not enough and there is need to really support the college. Your prayer and support is welcome.
